FY27 has more NDIS compliance deadlines packed into a single financial year than any year before it. New pricing rules. Mandatory registration cutoffs. A claims system overhaul. Budget reductions. A new planning framework. And a transition away from PRODA.

Miss one and you’re playing catch-up. Miss two and you’re at risk of rejected claims, compliance action or both.

At a glance: Nine NDIS compliance deadlines land between July 2026 and mid-2027. The new Pricing Schedule and mandatory SIL registration both hit on 1 July. The digital claims system starts rolling out the same month. PRODA access ends 30 September. Budget cuts and the Thriving Kids initiative land 1 October. The 90-day claim window starts 1 December. And the new planning framework rolls out from mid-2026 onwards.

The 9 Deadlines

  1. 1 July 2026 — New Pricing Schedule takes effect
  2. 1 July 2026 — Mandatory SIL and platform provider registration
  3. July 2026 — Digital claims system rollout begins
  4. 30 September 2026 — myID/RAM transition deadline
  5. 1 October 2026 — Budget reductions take effect
  6. 1 October 2026 — SIL registration application deadline (transition)
  7. 1 October 2026 — Thriving Kids initiative launches
  8. 1 December 2026 — 90-day claim window starts
  9. Mid-2026 onwards — New planning framework rollout

This post covers each one in chronological order, with what it means for your organisation and what you need to have done before it hits.

1 July 2026 — New Pricing Schedule Takes Effect

The old PAPL is gone. The NDIS Pricing Schedule replaces it as two separate documents: the price tables and a separate rules document. Support worker rates are up 3.95%. STA has been unbundled into support hours and accommodation day rates. Therapy travel drops to 50% of the hourly rate. Cancellation, telehealth and report writing are now standalone line items.

What you need done: Update all rate cards, service agreements and billing system configurations before submitting any FY27 claims. Discuss rate changes with participants and get their agreement.

1 July 2026 — Mandatory SIL and Platform Provider Registration

Every provider delivering supported independent living services must be registered with the NDIS Commission from this date. Platform providers face the same requirement. No minimum volume threshold.

What you need done: If you’re already registered, confirm your registration covers the new SIL Practice Standards module (registration group 0138). If you’re not registered, apply immediately. You can continue operating during the transition only if you apply by 1 October 2026.

July 2026 — Digital Claims System Rollout Begins

The upgraded NDIS claims and payments system starts its phased rollout. When it reaches your organisation, every claim will be automatically cross-checked against your service delivery records, participant plan details and registration data. Claims that don’t match get flagged or rejected.

What you need done: Make sure your software generates claims directly from service delivery records so the data matches by default. Test your claims workflow before the system reaches you.

If you’re not sure whether your current system can handle the new claims checks, this is the time to find out. Book a 15-minute walkthrough with FlowLogic to see how pre-populated claims and automated price updates keep your billing clean from day one.

30 September 2026 — myID/RAM Transition Deadline

All NDIS providers must have moved from PRODA to myID and the Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM) for accessing NDIS systems, including the Worker Screening Database. After this date, PRODA access ends.

What you need done: Set up myGovID for authorised staff, configure RAM to delegate access and test that your screening verification workflow still works under the new system. Don’t leave this until September.

1 October 2026 — Budget Reductions Take Effect

Participant budgets for social, civic and community participation supports are reduced by 50%. Capacity building daily activity allocations drop by 10%. These reductions reset average spend to 2023 levels.

What you need done: If you deliver services in these categories, model the revenue impact now. Forecast what a 50% budget reduction looks like for your service volume, staffing and rostering. Adjust your workforce planning before the cuts land.

1 October 2026 — SIL Registration Application Deadline (Transition)

Unregistered SIL providers who are already delivering services can continue operating during the transition only if they apply for registration by this date. Miss it and you must stop delivering SIL immediately.

What you need done: If you haven’t applied yet, engage an approved auditor and submit your application before this date. A certification audit typically takes 8 to 12 months, so getting into the queue is the priority.

1 October 2026 — Thriving Kids Initiative Launches

The new early intervention approach for children under 9 begins, replacing the current early childhood pathway. Full implementation runs through to 1 January 2028.

What you need done: If you deliver early childhood supports, review the new framework and how it affects your service model, participant eligibility and funding structure.

1 December 2026 — 90-Day Claim Window Starts

The window to submit a claim drops from two years to 90 days. Any support delivered after 1 December must be claimed within 90 days of the session date. This applies to all management types: agency-managed, plan-managed and self-managed.

What you need done: Configure your system to flag unbilled sessions at 60 days, giving your billing team a 30-day buffer. Switch from monthly or quarterly batch submission to more frequent claims. We covered the full impact of this change in our post on NDIS billing mistakes that get claims rejected.

Mid-2026 Onwards — New Planning Framework Rollout

The NDIA is rolling out a new planning framework with stated items and flexible budgets. Support needs assessments will focus on disability-related support requirements. All existing participants will transition within five years.

What you need done: Review your service agreements, invoicing workflows and care plan templates. Your systems will need to handle both old and new plan structures simultaneously during the transition.

Don’t Let a Deadline Catch You Off Guard

Nine deadlines across 12 months is a lot to track, especially when each one requires operational changes, system updates or both. The providers who map these out now and work through them methodically will have a clean FY27. The ones who react to each one as it arrives will spend the year in catch-up mode.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the biggest NDIS compliance deadlines in FY27?

The most impactful are the new Pricing Schedule (1 July), mandatory SIL registration (1 July, with application deadline 1 October), the digital claims system rollout (July onwards), the budget reductions (1 October) and the 90-day claim window (1 December).

When does the 90-day NDIS claim window start?

From 1 December 2026. Any support delivered after that date must be claimed within 90 days. The old two-year window no longer applies to sessions delivered from December onwards.

What happens if I miss the SIL registration application deadline?

If you’re an unregistered SIL provider and you don’t apply for registration by 1 October 2026, you must stop delivering SIL services immediately. There is no extension or grace period.

When does PRODA access end?

PRODA access ends on 30 September 2026. All providers must transition to myID and the Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM) before this date to continue accessing NDIS systems.

How much are participant budgets being reduced?

From 1 October 2026, social, civic and community participation support budgets are reduced by 50%. Capacity building daily activity budgets drop by 10%.

Will all these deadlines change if legislation is delayed?

Some deadlines are set by legislation (the Securing the NDIS Bill), others by NDIA operational decisions. Check the NDIA’s pricing updates page and the NDIS Commission’s reform hub for the latest confirmed dates.
